Born in Luxembourg in 1959, Ranga Yogeshwar is the son of an Indian engineer and a Luxembourg artist. He spent a significant part of his early years in India.
Following his high school graduation in Luxembourg, he pursued studies in experimental elementary particle physics and astrophysics. He gained professional experience at the Swiss Institute for Nuclear Research (SIN), CERN in Geneva, and the Jülich Research Center.
Ranga Yogeshwar started his career in journalism in 1983, initially working with various publishing companies before moving into radio and television. In 1987, he joined Westdeutscher Rundfunk Cologne as an editor and later led the science department. Since 2008, he has been an independent journalist and author. He is recognized as one of Germany’s foremost science journalists and has created and hosted numerous TV shows, including “Kopfball” (ARD), “Quarks&Co” (WDR), and “Die große Show der Naturwunder” (ARD).

Ranga Yogeshwar frequently contributes to major newspapers and is a sought-after expert on various talk shows. His books “Sonst noch Fragen?”, “Ach so!”, and “Nächste Ausfahrt Zukunft” became bestsellers and have been translated into multiple languages.
He has been honored with over 60 professional awards, including an honorary doctorate from the University of Wuppertal, the Federal Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, and the Ordre de Mérite du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg.
Ranga Yogeshwar is a father of four and resides with his family near Cologne.
