Ansgar Baums serves as Senior Advisor at Sinolytics, providing corporations with guidance on managing geopolitical risks.
He is also a non-residential senior fellow at the Stimson Center. In 2023, Ansgar was honored as the Helmut Schmidt Fellow by the German Marshall Fund. Additionally, he acts as Senior Advisor to SUB Erste Lesung, a public affairs firm.
Previously, he worked in government relations at Zoom Video Communications. Before that, Baums held various corporate roles, including Head of the Global Strategy Program at HP and Head of Government Relations for Europe, Middle East, and Africa at HP. His career also includes positions at SAP AG, Bitkom—the German Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications, and New Media—and Germany’s Office for the Protection of the Constitution.
Ansgar earned a master’s degree with distinction in international strategy and economics from the University of St. Andrews, along with a postgraduate diploma in political science from the Free University Berlin.
