After brief ventures into music, Volker Busch chose to pursue medicine in the early 1990s. His focus quickly shifted to the brain rather than the ankle, leading him to specialize in neurology and later also in psychiatry and psychotherapy.
He soon realized that modern medicine often concentrates too much on pathology. Early on, he became more interested in understanding what keeps people healthy rather than sick. His passion became health prevention and maintaining performance: What sustains optimal brain function? What enhances human performance? What drives and inspires us at work and in daily life? How can we maintain emotional stability? How can we live happily despite psychological stress? What positive effects do lifestyle, nutrition, and exercise have on individuals experiencing stress and tension in their professional or personal lives?
Volker Busch was honored as Speaker of the Year 2021 by the Rhetorik-Akademie Tübingen, with the following commendation:
“In his lectures, publications, and podcasts, Mr. Busch presents scientific content in an accessible, practical, humorous, and engaging manner, demonstrating rhetorical brilliance!”
