He still wants to help and heal, but no longer by rushing through emergency rooms. Instead, he focuses on foundational innovations that enhance the healthcare system for patients, doctors, and nurses. His second goal is to transform healthcare so that he would want to return to practicing medicine himself.
- Dr. Jungmann believes that innovative technologies can lead to improved health and greater humanity. In his presentations, he also addresses audiences outside the medical field, showing that it is possible to remain true to one’s motivation while forging a unique life path. Sven Jungmann is a physician and entrepreneur operating at the crossroads of technology and evidence-based medicine. After several years practicing internal medicine, he transitioned to healthcare innovation, initially serving as founding CEO of Helios’ first corporate venture, part of Europe’s largest private hospital group.
He subsequently focused on building technology companies in Germany and internationally. Sven is currently a partner and chief medical officer at FoundersLane. Additionally, he advises various healthcare firms, including Wellster Healthtech, a direct-to-consumer healthcare startup valued at $100 million, and Halitus, a machine learning-based diagnostics company specializing in breath analysis via laser. He also supports angel investors and venture capitalists in making informed investment decisions in healthcare and biotech. Furthermore, he leads his own startup advancing gamification in medical education.
Sven Jungmann was recognized by Handelsblatt as one of Germany’s 100 Smartest Innovators, earning the nickname “Big Data Doctor,” and featured on Business Punk’s 2021 Watchlist. Rotary International awarded him a $30,000 scholarship for his studies at Oxford, where he also received the £5,000 Kounelakis-Zegarac-Pollock Prize. Besides his medical degree, Sven holds a Master’s in Public Policy from Oxford, a Master’s in Public Health from LSHTM, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship from Cambridge.
