Visitors from all over the world come to the north of Essen to experience cultural highlights. By designating the Zollverein industrial complex a UNESCO World Heritage Site, UNESCO recognised both the uniqueness of this outstanding monument of industrial architecture and its present-day importance as a renowned hub for the creative industries and a meeting place for businesses and other hosts.
Originally intended as a cooling tower for Zeche Zollverein, the Oktogon quickly developed into a centre for communication and encounters – in an atmosphere that combines tradition and modernity at the highest level.
An Extraordinary Event Venue
The flexible setting provides space for projects of all kinds – press conferences, meetings, exhibitions, presentations, gala events, celebrations and conferences. Every type of event and gathering finds the right setting here. Guests can focus on what matters: holding inspiring and productive meetings, creating temporary workspaces or organising celebrations of all kinds.
With 900 m² on the ground floor and 300 m² on the upper floor, the Oktogon provides ideal conditions for a wide variety of prestigious events.
The venue accommodates 10 to 750 guests.
Natural daylight in every room and a ceiling height of up to 14 metres at the centre of the building create a pleasant atmosphere and an ideal environment for thinking, creating and collaborating.
