Sven Plöger, a qualified meteorologist, author, speaker, and weather presenter born in Bonn in 1967, developed a fascination with the sky, clouds, and flying during his childhood.
This early interest, combined with his passion for physics, inspired him to pursue meteorology from a young age. After completing his studies in meteorology in Cologne, he quickly recognized his aptitude for working in the media.
Since 1996, Sven Plöger has been presenting live on the radio and has been on camera for 25 years. He hosts the live weather program “Wetter vor acht” before the Tagesschau, the weather segment following the Tagesthemen, and various weather shows on ARD’s regional channels such as WDR, NDR, SWR, and RBB. His studio is based at HR in Frankfurt am Main.
