Rolf Dobelli – The Art of Digital Living.
Although we are constantly well-informed, our knowledge remains limited. Why is that? Because we continuously consume “news” – small snippets of trivial stories, loud images, and sensational “facts.” Bestselling author Rolf Dobelli has lived without news for many years and can personally attest to the liberating effect of this freedom. Follow his example: disconnect completely. Experience the art of a stress-free digital life with clearer thinking, deeper insights, and less chaos. This approach will help you make better decisions both personally and professionally, while freeing up more time for what truly enriches and brings you joy.
Rolf Dobelli – The art of living well.
For two years, Rolf Dobelli contributed the weekly “Klarer Denken” column to ZEIT, FAZ, and Sonntagszeitung in Switzerland. He also wrote the weekly “Fragen an das Leben” column for STERN for one year.
His books “The Art of Living Well,” “The Art of Thinking Clearly,” and “The Art of Acting Wisely” have been translated into 40 languages, reached millions of readers, and are regarded as essential reading for managers and executives.
Rolf Dobelli is an internationally sought-after speaker. In his presentations, the author and entrepreneur explains how to identify common thinking and behavioral pitfalls and how to avoid them.
Drawing on psychological research, he was the first to systematically collect and present cognitive errors. He explains, for example, why the fear of loss drives us more than the hope of gain, and how information overload can lead to poor decisions.
“We don’t know for sure what makes us successful or happy. But we do know with certainty what destroys success or happiness,” Rolf Dobelli states.
He also explores why people cling to disproven theories. In today’s complex world, Rolf Dobelli provides clarity and guidance through his books and lectures. He firmly believes that avoiding typical thinking traps enables us to make significantly better decisions.
Rolf Dobelli regularly writes reviews for The Washington Post. His commentaries have appeared in The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Financial Times, NZZ, Handelsblatt, and CNN, among others. His novels are published by Diogenes, and his non-fiction works by Hanser. His books have been translated into over thirty languages and have sold millions of copies.
He is a member of PEN and serves on the advisory board of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce and Life Science Zurich. Apart from magazines like The New Yorker, Science, and Nature, he avoids news consumption but reads many books. Rolf Dobelli lives with his family in Bern.
