Centrally located in Cologne, on the site of the former Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz AG (KHD), BASIX combines industrial history with a contemporary spatial concept. On the outside, the listed brick façade has an urban look, while the interior reveals an open loft atmosphere on two levels – with visible steel structures, glass, wood, green plants, natural materials and a descending wall of plants.
The center of the location is formed by six flexible event boxes that move out of a glass cube and define space in a new way. Whether a workshop, presentation, conference or get-together – BASIX opens up new perspectives through structure, flexibility and creative staging.
Embedded in the machwerkhaus köln, a center for design, urban production and sustainable innovation, BASIX is located in a lively creative environment. Studios, start-ups and craft businesses characterize the quarter and create inspiring impulses for events with high standards.
