Similar to conferences, congresses are daytime events dedicated to a specific topic. The expert audience often meets at an international level to exchange ideas. Hundreds or thousands of guests are usually invited to a congress.

What is a congress?

Unlike a conference, a congress is an event lasting several days and attended by a larger audience (up to 1,000 participants). Here, too, the aim is to impart knowledge and facilitate professional exchange, public discussion and networking among experts and interested parties. Congresses are increasingly accompanied by exhibitions, workshops or breakout sessions.

In order to generate publicity for the host company and attract public attention, press representatives are often present at congresses.

Larger congresses, particularly scientific gatherings, deal with related topics in parallel in various event formats – often with participants from all over the country or even international guests. Participants usually put together their own individual programme from the events on offer.
